Blue Heron Consulting’s Why is to improve the lives of veterinary professionals. We started our Hiring Services department in 2021 as a service to our clients because they were struggling to juggle hiring and patient care. Our team couldn’t step in and see their patients, but we could conduct veterinarian, manager, and support staff searches for them. So we did.
Services we offer

- Hiring Deep Dive – an immersive program that gives a member of your team the tools they need to thoroughly and strategically hire support staff for years to come
- Hiring Advice – meet with a team member for guidance on how to be a competitive option for job seekers
- Marketing Development – the creation of written job ads, job ad video, and multiple one-page advertisements
- Annual Staffing Contracts – Outsource candidate sourcing and screening to our team on an annual basis. This is a great option for hospitals who hire frequently and/or who want to prioritize patient care and their current team over sourcing and screening applicants.

The BHC Hiring Services team took a great deal off my plate and made the hiring process easier for me!
BHC Hiring Services team was great! Having an outside source like BHC finding and screening candidates gave us time to work on other important clinic tasks. Screening applications and conducting initial interviews are time consuming, with BHC we were only sent qualified candidates to interview. The BHC team was great at communicating with me about applicants every step of the way.

This service provides an overwhelmed Practice Manager much needed assistance. When you are short staffed, the PM often steps in to fill a position and that makes it even more difficult to set aside the time needed to find the right candidate for a job. We are very satisfied with BHC’s Hiring Services. Working with BHC made hiring multiple DVMs so much more doable while simultaneously working in a hospital. It took the effort of recruiting completely off my list of responsibilities, and made it so I knew I was spending time meeting with promising candidates. Hiring DVMs is a lot of work, so having somebody doing the recruiting, making first contact, and ensuring clear communication was a huge help.
BHC has done a great job handling my job ads, phone interviews, and documentation. It saved me so much time – I don’t have to go through the piles of resumes/applicants (especially for the CSR position). They also handle the references/background check (if applicable).
