As a new practice manager, with no background in vet med, Foundations showed me the right questions to be asking. Structure of a clinic, learning from other perspectives in the class, deep diving into leadership, financials, and payroll… I only wished I could have taken this course before we opened our clinic!

My company hired Blue Heron Consulting for a RACE approved CE presentation on leadership for a group of about 20 practice managers in vet med. Our group was engaged from start to finish and collectively went “noooooo” when the wifi temporarily went out (issue on our end). I collected feedback after the presentation and every single person liked it, took notes/pictures of slides, and have had many participants ask me to send them the notes. The content was relatable and actionable. Blue Heron did a great job and we’ll definitely work with them again.

This was an excellent experience in multiple ways! Very constructive atmosphere, and a lot accomplishments were made. The free time was a blast too. The highlight of the trip was the bonding experience had by those on our team, and with our coaches/mentors. I feel like the foundation built at this retreat will serve us for a long time. If you’re considering CE I would highly recommend working with Blue Heron. I hosted a CE event for practice management. The whole audience was so engaged and everyone thanked me afterwards. You can tell their team cares so much about their clients and their experience.

The educational content of the trip is packaged in a way that’s digestible and beneficial, and not only that, but the BHC crew helped us build a structured timeline and list of action items to put what we learned into practice. Within six months of returning from our summer pack trip, we had implemented all the changes and improvements that came out of the discussions and education we gained. We’ve seen an increase in our level of medicine, upgraded the culture of our practice, and have capitalized on growth opportunities that were going unclaimed beforehand.

The pack trip was exciting in so many ways. I will return every year, as long as I can! This Miami girl was challenging herself to live out in the wilderness for a few days (never having truly camped a day in her life), and it was a truly life-changing experience. The landscape was absolutely breathtaking, and BHC made sure we packed everything we needed to keep comfortable over the chilly nights. They coordinated such a beautiful and informal approach to our CE time and one-on-one time while we were at camp.

Would absolutely recommend! I already have! It’s so inspiring and encouraging to meet so many people that are not just interested in practice ownership, but many of them are already striving towards it. Everyone had their own unique experience and it allowed a good opportunity for discussion and collaboration. This workshop provided a valuable foundation for my path toward practice ownership! While I still have much to learn, I’m leaving here with a better grasp of what it takes to be a successful practice owner. I’m confident that anyone who desires practice ownership would benefit from attending the BHC Aspiring to Thriving workshop.

I came prepared for this trip to be super fun, and hopefully educational so I could return to the practice and implement a few new things. But I came away having had the time of my life, along with an incredibly well thought out plan to improve my practice. This experience has become something that I look forward to year after year, both for the insane amounts of fun we have, but also for the benefits of learning from and brushing shoulders with other industry professionals from across the country. I could not recommend this pack trip enough. It’s a once in a lifetime experience that you’ll want to repeat yearly after your first trip.

Networking with everyone and getting to know why they were there and trying to understand their area of “expertise” then dig into that and learn what I could was the highlight of the event.

The stories shared by the firelight, by both cowboys and staff, had us all rolling. And I can’t say enough about the outfitter company – these gentlemen were so professional, were tremendous guides and cooks, and custom fit me for a horse based on my experience, so that I was as confident as possible on our daily rides. I met veterinarians and practice managers from across the company, who shared their passion and heart for what they do. We all worked together, learned so much about how to run our companies, and became friends. I encourage everyone to participate in this incredibly unique CE!

I never expected to get so much out of this trip when signing up. I enjoyed the environment/unique experience of packing into the mountains, however the CE knowledge and networking opportunities gained is invaluable.
