Stith Keiser, BA, chief executive officer and director of client experience for Blue Heron Consulting, says there are two different paths that veterinary schools are on. Schools on one path have realized that the client is the student, schools on the other path have not.

If we miss the interpersonal, communication, leadership skills, etc., says Keiser, we’re missing a necessary component of veterinary education. We’re doing our veterinary students a disservice if we don’t find a way to get nonclinical curriculum added in, he adds.
